About the National Drainage Academy
The NDA was formed in conjunction with the National Association of Drainage Contractors and is made up of a network of NADC approved training providers. These companies, many of which will be well known to you have joined the NADC in its efforts to promote the DrainSafe scheme and improve the quality of training and certification in the industry.

The NDA is a collection of quality, audited training providers with many years of experience based all over the UK and Ireland.
It is the intention of the NDA and its partner training companies to raise industry standards across the UK & Ireland by providing contractors the opportunity to become certified. Certification is the key to professionalism within the drainage industry.
All NDA trainers have time served and relevant industry experience and a minimum of the following:

An Award in Education and Training (Level 3 or equivalent)

IOSH Managing Safely

NDA trainers are EU Skills Approved and WRc Approved.

The NDA training suite of drainage-related courses is fully approved by DrainSafe, the new quality marque for the drainage industry.
DrainSafe is an industry led approved contractor scheme sponsored by the National Association of Drainage Contractors (NADC). It sets out to provide a framework in which customers of our industry (from householders through to much larger organisations) can have the assurance that their contractor is competent to do the work.
Drainsafe is a not for profit quality marque designed to protect the consumer by installing confidence by use of good quality contractors and improving the environment by reducing the potential for watercourse pollution incidents. DrainSafe is designed to serve both the UK and Ireland.

DrainSafe members will be able to demonstrate that they are competent to carry out a range of work in the following disciplines – H&S, CCTV operation and reporting, drain and sewer surveying and mapping, high pressure water jetting, drain and sewer excavation and repair, patching and lining, vacuum tanker and waste management and sweeping and gully/interceptor maintenance.

The National Drainage Academy offers courses in all of the Drain Safe requirements.

The NDA provides a network of trainers across the UK and Ireland to facilitate the contractor.
Training centres are now in operation in various parts of the UK and Ireland and there will be one near you.
